Physician Assistant Nurse Practitioner Big Sur, CA

We are looking for a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our medical practice in Big Sur, CA.
We are seeking a PA or NP to join our team part time (number of days negotiable) to see and treat patients within our rural health clinic. Our ideal candidate would be interested in a great work/home life balance and appreciate working in a very small, rural clinic, where our patients and staff are known and treated like family. We are seeking a provider who is positive and enthusiastic, knowledgeable but is not afraid to say “I don’t know but I will find out and get back to you”, a strong work ethic with high attention to detail and thoroughness and enjoys collaborating with coworkers for comprehensive patient care. Basic communication skills/bilingual in Spanish is preferred and you must be able to see patients of all ages.

We are a small, rural health clinic that has been proudly serving the community of Big Sur since 1979. Our belief is that health care should be available to everyone. We provide care for patients of all ages, for a wide range of services -including women health and children’s health services. We accept most major insurance plans including Medicare and participate in a variety of subsidized and sliding scale programs. We provide both preventive and urgent care, minor surgical procedures and basic laboratory and pharmaceutical services. Our goal is to provide high-quality, comprehensive, personalized services through holistic approaches that focus on patient needs, helping to empower individuals to reach their highest levels of well-being. We have a dynamic team of medical doctors, PA and NPs, RNs, MAs and amazing support staff collaborating to provide the best care possible.
Duties:
- Evaluation- Patient care (exam, HPI, review pertinent medical records/imaging) approx. 15 patients per day
- Order and review lab/diagnostic imaging
- Diagnosis on acute and chronic disorders
- Provide preventative care and urgent care services
- Treatment- pharmacologic and procedures (simple suturing, skin biopsies, joint injections)
- Documentation in EMR system
- Referral to specialists as deemed medically necessary
- Coordination of care with the other healthcare providers
Requirements:
- Graduation from an accredited PA/NP program
- PA/NP license to practice in CA
- Conversational Spanish preferred
Schedule:
- Part time
- Negotiable on days/times worked
- Office hours Monday-Friday (9:30-5:30)
- No weekend office hours
Salary (range):
- starts at $560/shift
