Job description:
The Nurse Practitioner will be located onsite for approx. 450 people in a factory. As well as being a provider of urgent care, prescriptions, and wellness care, there will be a focus on improving EHS standards. The role will involve collaborating with other health professionals, such as remote mental health therapists and potentially, visiting EHS experts
Requirements:
- Bilingual in Spanish
- Licensed in the state of IL
- BLS and CPR certification preferred
Duties:
- Manage ongoing employee injuries, illness, or wellness commitments, building relationships with employees to see their health and lifestyle holistically. Will also manage complex conditions when necessary, collaborating with the remote physician
- Focus on Occupational Health and EHS: Provide employees with protocols and best practices for EHS within the workplace and provide advice for improving EHS at the worksite
- General first aid and triage: Clean and assess wounds. Call emergency services, if necessary, transferred to the ER. Monitor employees recovering at home and those with injuries or conditions that need regular monitoring at the workplace
- Prescribe and administer medications: Prescribe and administer medications following all regulations
- Wellness program management: Provide employees with educational materials (handouts) on how to prevent injuries in the workplace, stop the spread of COVID, preventative measures, etc
- Administer vaccines: Provide employees with seasonal flu shots, amongst other vaccines in applicable
- Ordering and administering lab tests: Responsible for ordering land administering lab tests (such as drug screens, strep tests, etc.) as well as other diagnostic tests, such as x-rays
- Teladoc collaboration: Work with Teladoc doctor when employees need to set up a remote consultation
- Data Entry: Recording all patient interactions and patient progress in our health records system
Skills:
- Medical and Caring Skills- deal with employee medical problems and care for them in a comprehensive way
- Establish rapport and trust with employees and management at client site
- Encourage them and work with them to live healthier lifestyles
Ideally, (not essential but would be valuable) the NP would have experience in:
- Designing or running wellness programs
- Musculo-skeletal injuries
- Mental health or counseling
- Occupational health or ergonomics
- Nutrition
Schedule:
- Monday-Friday (Day shift) 9 hour shifts with a one-hour break for lunch
- no weekends or call
- We are closed for all major holidays
Salary: Depending on experience
