Physician Assistant OR Nurse Practitioner Baltimore, MD
We are looking for an experienced Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our medical group full time in Baltimore, MD. Our ideal candidate is compassionate, provides excellent patient care, and has experience working in urgent care and/or primary care. The incoming Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner must also be comfortable with treating a wide variety of patient age ranges, primary care and acute/chronic conditions.
About us:
Our Urgent Care/Primary care team everything from the flu to more serious injuries and illness with great skill and we have been doing so for over 10 years. Some of our urgent care services include injury treatment, wound care, x-ray services, STD screening & treatment, EKGs, flu/fevers/colds treatment, allergic reactions & allergies, laboratory & blood services, sports related injuries, an in-house pharmacy, physicals, and occupational medicine. We also offer primary care services for the entire family!
Duties:
- Assess, plan and treat patient needs within an urgent care/primary care setting
- Assess, plan, and treat patients of all ages under the supervision of a physician (when necessary)
- Take and/or review patient histories and vital signs as necessary
- Effectively manage private, pre-employment and workers comp patients
- Diagnosis and Treatment of a wide variety of conditions
- Order labs, tests, injections, referrals and prescribe medications
- Perform digital blocks, and regional anesthesia
- Perform minor outpatient surgical procedures (i.e.: wound closure/management, I & D, and needle biopsy)
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures ( i.e.: aspirations/injections of joints/bursas/cysts, closed reductions of fractures/dislocations, apply braces/casts/splints)
- Order, collect and perform appropriate laboratory and diagnostic studies, such as routine laboratory tests, EMG, electrocardiograms, and radiological examinations
- Consult with Chief Medical Officer or other lead Providers on medical care of patients
- Patient education re: diagnosis/course of treatment/discharge instructions, and communication with other clinical staff
- Create an individualized plan of care based on physical, psychosocial and age specific assessments of the patient
- Maintain an adequate patient flow on site by providing direction to clinical and front desk staff
- Provide accurate and timely documentation -completing EMR charting by the end of each shift
- Attend client site visits and provider/staff meetings
Education/Experience Requirements:
- Graduation from an Accredited Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant program
- Current PA/NP license in MD
- Knowledge of basic ER, internal medicine, generalist, occupational medicine, and family practice procedures
- Prior primary care and/or Urgent care/ER experience
Compensation:
- $65-$70/hr (DOE)
- $120,000 - $130,000 per year
