Full time nurse practitioner Annapolis Maryland
could be either 5days in Annapolis or 3days in Annapolis and 2days in Hyattsville.
Salary $100,000/year

JOB SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Act as the single point of contact for your patients making independent decisions about their care.
- Perform clinical operations and being an integral part of the clinic team and community are all part of a day's work.
- Performs comprehensive physical assessments of patients/residents, and take care of the patients from check-in to payment.
- Establishes medical diagnosis for chronic stable health problems such as Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertension and common short-term health problems.
- Orders, performs and interprets diagnoses testing including laboratory tests, EKG’s and radiographic studies.
- Prescribes medications as authorized by the Nurse Practice Act and according to established protocols.
- Performs case/care management functions and oversees discharge planning whether discharge is out of the facility or to a lesser level of care within the facility.
- Refers patients/residents to appropriate licensed physicians such as medical/surgical specialists and other health care providers such as rehabilitation therapist, hospice services, home health services, psychotherapists, ect.
- Seeks consultation with the collaborating physician or other attending physicians as appropriate to ensure sound medical management of the patient/residents.
- Provides emergency care such as CPR, management of hypoglycemia or management of minor trauma such as suturing, splinting and dressing based on the established protocol.
- Orders transfers to the hospital.
- Confers with families and other care givers of residents whose care may be being provided, in part, by the Nurse Practitioner.
- Documents care provided in the Medical Records based on national documentation standards that support the quality of services provided and the various billing strategies.
- Participates in the Performance Improvement Committee of the facilities.
- Provides in-service for nursing staff as needed.
- Consults with nursing staff regarding practice skills as indicated.
