Position Overview
CentralCare is seeking a compassionate and experienced Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) with recent pediatric experience to work in a pediatric environment at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst in New Jersey. In this role, you will provide comprehensive primary care services to young patients, ensuring their optimal health and well-being.

Patient Care Responsibilities:

Provides comprehensive and a full range of outcome-based Nurse Practitioner services in accordance with privileges granted by the MTF (e.g., supervise and provide general screening and medical care and examinations of patients for routine, acute and chronic conditions, diagnose, treat, and counsel patients as indicated)

Diagnoses and treats patients with common acute conditions, chronic illnesses, or minor trauma within accepted protocols, clinical practice guidelines, Nurse Practice Acts, and/or in consultation with a physician

Performs minor procedures and treatments, as needed, and in accordance with scope of practice to include, but not limited to, punch biopsies, wart removal, shave biopsies, minor suturing, toenail removal, abscess incision & drainage, suture removal, joint injections, and Pap exams Additionally, performs procedures such as, intravenous (IV) line placement, dressing changes, wound irrigation, oxygen administration, and specimen collection

Responds to and assists in MTF patient emergency situations

Recognizes conditions that require isolation and ensures universal precautions are used in all patient encounters

Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including lab work and imaging studies

Orders/prescribes medications and adjusts dosages according to patient needs

Educate patients and families on health conditions, treatment options, and preventive care. Exhibits skillfulness and tact when communicating w/ patients (and parents) during all aspects of care

Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals

Performs other duties, as required, to include covering for other Primary Care & Women’s Health providers in their absence
Administrative Duties:

Maintain accurate patient records and documentation

Participate in daily huddles and monthly staff meetings (Pro-staff and ECOMS), continuing education programs, and quality improvement initiatives

Participates in monthly provider Peer Review program and submits reports in a timely manner

Adhere to all relevant clinical protocols and guidelines
Qualifications:
-
Education: Master's degree in Family Health/Primary Care Nursing from an accredited program
Certification:
-
Current FNP certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP)

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. ACLS and PALS certifications preferred

Maintains all required certifications, completes annual Continuing Education Units (CEUs) and other required MDG staff training in a timely manner

Experience: Minimum 2 years of full-time experience as an FNP, including recent experience (within the last 6 months) working with pediatric patients (ages 0-17)

Licensure: Current, unrestricted, and active FNP license (any active state license accepted)
