Job Description

Join our team in Prineville Oregon as a Primary Care Provider (MD, DO, or NP) at (Login for Information), you will provide direct patient care in our clinic and, in some cases, the hospital setting. You'll have the opportunity to make a difference by diagnosing and treating both acute and chronic conditions, developing personalized treatment plans, and working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team. You'll also have the chance to engage with patients in preventative health and health education.

Key Responsibilities:

Direct Patient Care:

  • Provide direct patient care in primary care settings (outpatient and occasional inpatient).
  • Diagnose and treat both acute and chronic medical conditions.
  • Develop treatment plans based on clinic protocols and current evidence-based guidelines.
  • Advocate for patients by coordinating care within the healthcare system, including referrals to specialty providers as necessary.
  • Participate in "provider of the day" (POD) duties and after-hours call coverage as required.
  • Work with the team to optimize patient care access and streamline processes for better service delivery.

Standards of Practice:

  • Use evidence-based tools like "Up to Date" and "Choosing Wisely" to guide diagnostic and treatment plans.
  • Provide cost-conscious care and address social determinants of health in treatment strategies.
  • Leverage a team-based approach to patient care, ensuring collaboration among multidisciplinary team members.
  • Focus on preventative health, patient education, and empowering patients through shared decision-making.
  • Educate patients on diagnoses, treatment options, disease prevention, safe health behaviors, self-care, and overall health promotion.

Documentation & Indirect Patient Care:

  • Maintain accurate, timely electronic health records (EHR) and reflect critical thinking in documentation.
  • Review and address incoming lab results, reports, and patient requests efficiently.
  • Respond to patient calls and MyChart messages in a timely manner.
  • Ensure accurate coding for billing and facilitate effective communication using EHR tools.

Qualifications:

Experience:

  • Preferred: Two years of relevant work experience in a primary care or team-based care setting.
  • Family practice experience is highly preferred.
  • Experience working with low-income populations is preferred.

Licenses & Certifications:

  • Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) for physicians.
  • Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) for NPs.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Ability to work effectively with a multi-disciplinary team in a collaborative environment.
  • Strong computer and typing skills required; experience with practice management software preferred.
  • Knowledge of health insurance plans and regulatory standards (e.g., CLIA, OSHA) is preferred.
  • Ability to train and mentor staff, ensuring optimal team performance.
