(Login for Information)invites you to apply for the position of Mid-Level Practitioner to work with our Board-certified Orthopedic Spine Surgeon. In this role you will have the opportunity to use your education and training in our practice. This Nurse Practitioner (NP) will support Dr. Mark Shasti. As we expand our clinical operations and growth. The NP will provide direct patient care according to state guidelines under the direction of the supervising physician. The NP will be involved in the coordination of treatment and assist in the management of patient care. In coordination with the supervising physician, the NP will develop a comprehensive plan of care and collaborate with the care team to ensure continuity and quality care.

Primary Responsibilities

The incumbent may be asked to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically stated in this description. The duties and responsibilities of the position are to be carried out in a manner that is consistent with the Mission, Core Values and Operating Principles of Nova Spine Center. The NP will be expected to carry out patient care and associated tasks in accordance with Dr. Mark Shasti’s protocols and expectations.

Job-specific duties:

  • Provide care for the majority of PI, Workers Comp and routine follow-up patients.
  • Perform certain injections in clinic, including but not limited to trigger point injections and certain joint injections.
  • Provide appropriate patient recommendations and schedule procedures (and follow-up procedures at appropriate intervals) for patients based on their symptoms.
  • Examines patient, performs comprehensive physical examination, and compiles patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination.
  • Administers or orders diagnostic tests, such as x-ray, and laboratory tests, and interprets test results for deviations from normal.
  • Consults with physician when warranted to assess patient condition and treatment.
  • Performs therapeutic procedures, such as injections, suturing and wound care, and managing infection.
  • Develops and implements patient management plans, records progress notes, and assists in provision of continuity of care.
  • Instructs and counsels patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance.
  • Performs preoperative activities according to Facility policy.
  • Confers with the Physician about the planned anesthetic to be administered.
  • Documents orders and considerations specified by and carried out by Physician.
  • Provides support to medical and office staff.
  • Ensures consistent compliance with all regulatory and (Login for Information)guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
