Job Description
Psychiatric/Mental Health-NP – Tri-Cities area
ARNPs are part of our Medical Services team that provides nursing, medical, and pharmacological care to our clients. Under the direction of the Medical Director, ARNPs work with multidisplinary teams to assess clients, prescribe appropriate medications, and provide education about the treatment to each client in their caseload. Working with other medical staff that includes nurses, physician assistants, PharmDs, and psychiatrists, ARNPs help to ensure that each client receives the individualized treatment that works best for them.
ARNP duties may include:
evaluating and assessing client's physical and mental health status and reporting findings to treatment teams
prescribing and monitoring psychotropic drugs
participating in collaborative treatment planning, implementation, evaluation, and follow-up
coordinating medication refills and services with psychiatrists, clients, and treatment teams
educating staff, clients, and other community partners about individual mental health needs
using QPRT principles to assess risk and create safety plans
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Professional Credentials: Washington State Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner License, Washington State Registered Nurse License, Federal DEA Certification, Psychiatric Certification
Other Credentials Required: First Aid|CPR Certification, Driver's License, Vehicle Liability Insurance
This Tri Cities area along the Snake-Columbia river confluence is agricultural, with irrigated vegetables, fruits, grains, seeds, and livestock with an assortment of industrial and government-related activities mixed in. The towns, which are separated by a few miles, are clean, plain, and simple, with low crime and a relative lack of historic and cultural amenities. Pasco in particular serves as a major Columbia River port for agricultural products, paper and forest products, boats and metal fabrication are also a significant part of the economic base.
Psychiatric/Mental Health-NP – sunny Central WA—wine growing region
Nurse Practitioner duties may include:
* completing initial psychiatric evaluations and assessing mental health & physical health status at routine appointments
* prescribing & monitoring psychotropic medications and educating clients & their support system about the medication’s purpose, appropriate dosage, and possible side effects
* collaborating with each client to create an individualized treatment plan
* educating staff, clients, and other community partners about individual mental health needs
* following trauma-informed principles in all aspects of client care
* assessing clients for safety and risk to self or others, and taking appropriate crisis intervention measures when indicated
*completing all documentation & charting in a timely, client-centered manner
* participating in on-call and rounding rotations for our inpatient facilities, if placed in Yakima or nearby location
Qualifications:
Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner license in Washington
Psychiatric Mental Health certification required
