We are looking for a Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join our office full time in the Northern NJ in the Paramus area. The PA will rotate between our offices in Franklin Lakes, Paramus, and Glen Rock. The incoming Physician Assistant will assist our interventional pain specialist within an outpatient setting for a multi-specialty medical group. The focus of the position will be on evaluation and treatment of musculoskeletal/spine issues and evaluating for interventional treatment options.
Physician Assistant scope would include, conducting history and examinations of new patients and established patients, determine treatment plans, order and interpret diagnostic tests, as well as determine and indicate interventional treatment options to be performed for patient's symptoms.
Duties:
- Patient exam/evaluations- Perform comprehensive and problem focused history and physical exams to include medical history, Physical exam, review records/imaging/reports, assess patient's health, as well as detect changes in symptoms
- Order and review diagnostic tests/imaging and labs- interpret and correlate laboratory and diagnostic procedures. Diagnostics such as but not limited to EMG, and imaging examinations including special x-ray examinations CT, MRI and bone scans etc
- Diagnosis- Interpret and correlate subjective and objective data to formulate a differential diagnose and establish a working diagnosis
- Treatment plan formulation- Formulate a treatment plan for musculoskeletal problems within scope of practice, Implement therapeutic intervention for specific conditions when appropriate
- Order, prescribe, dispense, and administer Medication, orthosis, orthotics, braces as indicated.
- Patient education re: diagnosis and treatment options, Evaluate, screen and council patient on health maintenance and promote utilization of community resources
- Co-managing complaints alongside other providers
- Patient follow up and monitor progress
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions and ensure that the follow up occurs for any complications or side effects from injections and interventions
- Design, conduct and/or participate in research studies, manage databases, and perform quality assurance.
- Documentation-progress notes, timely and accurate. Document in patient's chart and ensure appropriateness of ordered exam based on interview of patient
- Collaboration with the multidisciplinary team for comprehensive patient care
- Assess patient's health, as well as detect changes in symptoms, Complete a thorough evaluation of a patient's pertinent medical history,
- Provide clear and thorough explanation of procedures to patients. Sympathetic to patient's needs, be able to deal with people in various states of pain, trauma and tragedy.
- Exercise judgment on problems requiring consultation, referral, or evaluation by the supervising doctor or other health care professionals
- Handle multiple patients with differing needs, stages of health and risks
- Promote positive work environment with patients, Physicians, and fellow employees
- Treat all patients and co-workers with dignity and respect
Requirements:
- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program (PA)
- PA license in NJ
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday (8 hr days)
- No Weekend work
Salary:
- $110K -$125k (depending on experience)
