Physician Assistant Somerset, NJ
We are looking for a motivated and compassionate Physician Assistant to join our group full time in Somerset, NJ. Our ideal Physician Assistant is comfortable working within an integrated setting, collaborating with a knowledgeable and well-respected team of professionals, to offer a comprehensive approach to patients living with acute and chronic pain. The Physician Assistant will be reporting to the Medical Physician/Medical Director. The PA in the Outpatient setting will collaborate with PM&R/Pain Management & Chiropractic Physicians in the ordering of Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Acupuncture to provide comprehensive multidisciplinary orthopedic treatment care plans. Position requires a variety of clinical and technical skills involved with coordination of care, workup, diagnosis, treatment, administration of various injection-based procedures, DME fitting & dispensing, J-Tech ROM evaluations, OMT, strapping/splinting and consultative services. Reporting to Surgical Lead, the PA in the ASC setting will work as a First Assist in the Orthopedic / Neuro-surgical procedures as dictated by 3rd party billing requirements and the patient needs of the outpatient facilities.

Duties:
- Perform comprehensive and problem-focused history and physical examinations on new and reactivated patients
- Interpret laboratory and diagnostic procedures to establish a working diagnosis
- Discuss diagnoses and treatment options with patients
- Collaborate with other specialties to execute comprehensive multispecialty orthopedic treatment plans
- Appropriately address non-compliant patients and remove barriers to care
- Implement therapeutic intervention for specific conditions
- Order and/or perform diagnostic procedures and studies such as: EMG/NCV, Diagnostic US, X-ray exams, special exams (CT, MRI, bone scans, etc)
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as: DME/Brace fitting, dispensing and follow-up, Peripheral joint injections, joint and bursa aspirations/injections, tendon sheath injections, trigger point injections, PRP/ADSC/BMAC harvest, preparation and grafting
- Assist with surgeries as delegated by the surgeon in the ASC when viable
- Order, prescribe, dispense and administer medication
- Order, prescribe, dispense and administer orthosis, orthotics, braces, and other orthopedic devices
- First Assist in the Orthopedic /Neuro-surgical procedures as needed
- Conduct post-operative follow-up, writing orders and performing admission and discharge functions in the ASC setting
- Timely preparation and update of electronic patient records and billing submission
Requirements:
- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant (PA) program
- Physician Assistant license in NJ
- Orthopedic, Physical Med and Rehab, or Pain management background is a plus
- Experience with injection procedures a plus
Total compensation (range):
- $120k-$130k
