Job Description
Seeking a locum Cardiothoracic Surgery Advanced Practice Provider to start January 2025
• Contract length: 3 months to ongoing
• Coverage Type: inpatient and OR
• Schedule Details: minimum 2 weekends per month Friday 5pm-Monday 8am.
• If candidate wants increased hours they can work weekdays doing 12 hour shifts
• Support staff: 5 MDs, 3 APPs
• Practice Setting: managing inpatient and OR
• EMR: EPIC
• Patient Age Group: Adults
Procedures: Primary need is weekend coverage. About 6 hours spent to round on cardiac post op patients (remove chest tubes and pacing wires), cardiac and thoracic pre and post op care, discharge patients, patient education, prepare patients for surgery (place orders, patient education), attend to new consults, ED consults, answer patient calls, and instill medications into chest tubes.
Required: Board Certified, NC state license, ACLS, minimum 3 years experience in Cardiac and Thoracic surgery
