Job Description

Northern Light Acadia Hospital in Bangor, Maine is seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our Adult Medication Management program. Prior PMHNP experience is preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply!  

The PMHNP is an independently licensed clinician who is responsible for the research-based knowledge, skills, and experience to assess, diagnose, treat, and provide psychiatric care for clients with psychiatric and substance use treatment needs.

Position Details:

  • Provide mental health treatment using psychotherapy, medication management, and other interventions
  • Consult with other healthcare providers
  • Provide direct patient care
  • Function as a clinical leader, resource, and preceptor for other staff
  • Serve as an integral part of program development, guide group decision-making, implement plans, and improve quality of care
  • Inpatient and hospital rounding call opportunities for additional compensation in adult and pediatrics
  • Monday-Friday schedule
  • Supervision provided by a designated psychiatrist
