Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center is seeking a Cardiothoracic Surgery Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our busy, experienced program in Bangor, Maine. This opportunity is ideal for an advanced practitioner who is looking for a professionally challenging, collaborative team environment!

Details:

  • Work side by side with talented surgeons and team members on all cardiothoracic cases
  • Complete inpatient rounding and consults
  • Perform any minor procedures at bed side if needed with direction of a surgeon
  • Review lab work and/or tests ordered during the day
  • Review of pre-op patients and ensure all pre-op orders are processed
  • Beneficial but not required: ability to read radiological tests such as chest x-rays and CT scans, ability to perform chest tube insertion, central line and arterial line placement, experience with endovascular vein harvesting
