EVH CT OR Locums Job in Virginia | Seeking Coverage Starting February 2025

Jackson and Coker is partnered with a nationally recognized client in coastal Virginia that needs Cardiothoracic/Cardiovascular Surgery NP/PA coverage starting in February through September 1, minimally. The facility is seeking 1-2 candidates that can offer a minimum of 8-15 shifts per month each and prefers providers that have a somewhat flexible schedule. 

COVERAGE NEED: 
- 8-15 shifts per month starting the week of February 12
- Seeking candidates that can offer a minimum of 5-8 shifts/month 
- Hours are 7P - 7A; The facility is needing a mix of weekend + weeknight coverage 

SHIFT DETAILS:
- Will be on site from 7P - 7A and will remain 'on call,' for the CS-OR while rounding on post-op CTS patients in the CSICU, performing bedside procedures as needed 
- Will need to be readily available for urgent CTS needs on the IMCU floors (MRTs) & must be able to provide open communication / status updates to surgeons + intensivist teams

SCOPE OF WORK + REQUIREMENTS: 
- EVH required (must be proficient on Maquet or Terumo) 
- Must have a minimum of 3-5 years of CTS OR experience 
- Must be comfortable with: 
* Inserting:  arterial catheters (hemodynamic monitoring or blood sampling), venous lines (fluid/med administration + monitoring), Swan-ganz catheters (to perform hemodynamic monitoring) & cook catheters (pleural drainage) 
* Chest tube placement + removal, placing temporary pacing wires 
* Ultrasound guided thoracentesis
* OR 1st assist on cases that include CABG, Valves, heart transplants, Ao dissections, lungs, MCS, TAVR, ECMO cannulation 

VOLUME DETAILS + SUPPORT STAFF: 
- 7 CSOR APPs + 3 CT Surgeons
- 2000+ heart cases annually
- Daily weekday patient volume: 4 patients/weekday & 8 new admissions/day
- Daily weeknight patient volume: 1 new admission/night, average of 2 patients/night
- Weekend patient volume: 6 patients/day, 4 admissions/day
- Facility detail: will primarily work at a heart 100+ bed hospital that's on the same campus of a larger, multispecialty facility | Epic EMR
